The Gembu People of Taraba State

Gembu is a city located in Mambilla Mountains, Taraba State, Nigeria. It is the headquarters of Sardauna local government (formerly "Mambilla") in Taraba state.
The Mambilla or Mambila people of Nigeria live in the Mambilla hills. Some of the Mambilla migrants moved from the Mambilla mountains to the Ndom plain on the Cameroonian side of the international border and some small villages, such as the new Namba, which are on the north to the towns of Gashaka and Banyo.
Sitting at an average height of about 1,348 meters (4,423 ft) above sea level, Mambila is one of the largest cities in Nigeria.
History
It has long been believed that the first inhabitants of the Mambilla Mountains were descendants of Bantu ancestors. the Bantu people who settled in modern Gembu after the Bantu expansion across Africa from 4000 to 3500 BC.
